Blog Launch...
Welcome to RI District 1040's tsunami KSV School Rebuild. This blog will detail the fund raising and development work of this important project, as it progresses.
The aim is to raise £200,000 to rebuild an entire school damaged by the tsunami at Batticaloa on the east coast of Sri Lanka. RI District 1040 covers Yorkshire, England. Yorkshire people, as ever, were hugely generous when the tsunami first hit, and Rotary was able to send immediate emergency aid to help the victims. The next stage of support is to help in the reconstruction phase, and this project is being supported by Clubs and the public throughout the District.
The appeal will officially launch on Tuesday, 14 June in Bradford, and more information - as well as the progress of the appeal and the actual rebuild - will be posted here. Please revisit regularly, and let us have details of your fund-raising activities too.
